Event Details
Inventi Ensemble are masters of classical repertoire, re-inventors of past works, and performers of the new.
This dynamic new chamber ensemble run by artistic directors Ben Opie (oboe) and Melissa Doecke (flute), collaborates with Australia’s finest soloists and chamber musicians. Inventi musicians have performed at BBC Proms, London’s Southbank, at music festivals globally, pop-up venues and community spaces. Passionate about regularly performing Australian music, Inventi Ensemble have commissioned many new works making them an exciting new voice in Australian music.
Inventi Ensemble highlights works by female composers including Australians Melody Eotvos, Melbourne based Nikki Edgar and Kaija Saariaho from Finland. The title piece was premiered by the Ensemble in 2015 at the Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music to great acclaim. House of the Beehives is a work that includes film which will be projected at the performance as will the semi-graphic score of Confirmation Bias by Nikki Edgar, providing the audience with a complete visual and aural experience.
