Known as genre-hopper with a talent for memorable melody and a fine trombone sound, Lucian McGuiness pursues contemporary jazz with the Impermanent Quartet. Accompanied by musicians with reputations for accomplished musicianship and modern flair, McGuiness composes intricate yet beautiful arrangements for this woodwind, brass, string and percussion instrumentation. Be transported to the soulful streets of 1920s Charlotte, North Carolina as Salvation Street Shout revives the Southern tradition of the trombone shout band. Seven trombone players and one jumpin’ drummer will soothe and save you with their harmonic hymns, harking back to the church bands of old. Featuring the music of Sam Cooke and The Soul Stirrers, this is an experience that will be at once Holy and jivin’. Inventive and resourceful musician and band Leader Lucian McGuiness is leading the first Sydney shout band. Featuring some of Sydney's finest trombone players.
