Event Details
Inventi Ensemble are masters of classical repertoire, re-inventors of past works, and performers of the new.
This dynamic new chamber ensemble run by artistic directors Ben Opie (oboe) and Melissa Doecke (flute), collaborates with Australia’s finest soloists and chamber musicians. Inventi musicians have performed at BBC Proms, London’s Southbank, at music festivals globally, pop-up venues and community spaces. Passionate about regularly performing Australian music, Inventi Ensemble have commissioned many new works making them an exciting new voice in Australian music.
Beyond Swan Lake highlights the true nature of Inventi Ensemble, masters of classical repertoire, re-inventors of past works and performers of the new. Taking exquisite traditional repertoire, the Ensemble reinvents highlights from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake in true Inventi style. To contrast they perform the world premiere of a new work written for them by brilliant Australian composer Melody Eotvos. This new commission features fixed electronics (the brief for the work required the composer to find an innovative way to utilize portable electronics such as a bluetooth speaker and an iPhone in the composition).
