At The Street for one night only, Sunday 6th March, Perth jazz icon, Jamie Oehlers releases his latest album, The Burden of Memory. Joined onstage by Paul Grabowsky, Phil Stack, and Tim Firth, this promises to be an exceptional night of music, delivered by some of the finest players in Australia.
To record the album, Jamie teamed up with long time collaborator and iconic Australian musician, Paul Grabowsky. Together they travelled to New York to record an album of original material drummer Eric Harland and bassist Reuben Rogers, two of the most in demand musicians on the planet. Having performed as a group a number of times, it was inevitable that this line up would record – the dynamic energy between the players was undeniable. The resulting album, The Burden of Memory mediates on life; it speaks of the things that bind us together, the invisible histories, the time before remembering, the space where the dreaming is born.
