Event Details
Commemorating the centenary of American composer John Cage’s birth, the Menagerie Ensemble presents a concert celebrating his life and music, touring from his early works of the 1930s through to his final years in the 1990s. Held in the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery, audiences will experience first hand the wide variety of Cage's rich soundworld, from the interactive 33 1/3 (adapted here for iPods) to the 'performance' pieces (Water Walk), works for prepared piano (Totem Ancestor and A Room), as well the introspective number pieces (One) and his meditation on silence, 4'33''.
Featured non-Australian music: John Cage
