Jon Rose has recently returned from the US where he was invited to be one of the curators in launching New York's new ‘new music’ space National Sawdust with his Interactive Sonic Ball project. While in town, Jon also undertook a 12-concert residency at legendary venue The Stone, performing with John Zorn, Marc Ribot, Mark Dresser, Shelley Hirsch, Elliott Sharpe, Ikue Mori, John Medeski, Miya Masaoka, Lucas Ligeti, and many more.
December will see him performing rare concerts in Sydney and Melbourne with the new and exciting talents of Sydney guitarist /composer Julia Reidy who, as with many young Australian musicians, currently resides in Berlin. The Sydney concert will also feature a multi-media "Great Fences of Australia" retrospective; the Melbourne concert will include a decidedly late book launch of "Rosenberg 3.0 – not violin music" – an entertaining critique that explores the cultural dysfunctionality of our time.
