Artist Talks Saturday 29th March, 5pm

As you enter the front door be prepared to experience the site-specific keyboard installation by sound artist Julian Day. Day's evocative sound installation draws you into the lounge room gallery. Here you are confronted by the large gestural abstractions of painter Amber Hearn. Amber's works, while gestural in nature, use a muted palette: operating in the space between representation and abstraction. The video gallery features three video works by Julian Day that are almost numinous in nature.

Ascend the stairs and you are struck by work from photographer Hamish Stephenson's series Deadly Business. The series was inspires by a personal tragedy. Their beauty belies the timeline of events around death that most people are not aware of.

The upstairs galleries are dominated by the ceramics of Alana Wilson. Her ceramic forms reference Primitive, Ancient and Neolithic cultures. The combination of glaze technology and primitive contemporary aesthetics drive her work.
