Event Details

With a new program, new artists and a new itinerary, Tura New Music presents Kimberley Echoes at the Perth Concert Hall on Thursday the 28th of September, 7:30pm. The culmination of Tura’s Echo Tour across the Kimberley, Kimberley Echoes brings together Indigenous musical icons Mark Atkins, Stephen Pigram and Bart Willoughby with some of Australia’s finest instrumentalists – Stephen Magnusson (guitar), Erkki Veltheim (violin), Tristen Parr (cello) and Tura’s Artistic Director Tos Mahoney (flute).

This powerful combination of artists present a program that reaches across cultures, time and place. Four of the many Kimberley artists who collaborated with touring artists along the way are special guests for this concert Gabriel Nodea (Warmun), Naomi Pigram and Paul Boon (Broome) and John Bennett (Bidyadanga). This finale concert features new works, footage, and photography echoing the travelled Kimberley landscapes, weaving through a compelling story of country and belonging.
