Hear the freshest new works for flute amongst inspiring images in the brand new QCP gallery. Janet McKay presents fascinating new compositions from Australia and the USA, including: Nomi Epstein's (USA) Two Flutes and Tape, Cat Lamb's (USA) Frame for Flute, David Lang's (USA) Thorn, Thomas Meadowcroft's (AUS) Cars and Sunsets, Stephen Stanfield (AUS)'s new work (world premiere), Jen Wang's (USA) Searchlight Songs. Four of the works have been specially composed for Janet this year, including a world premiere by Brisbane composer Stephen Stanfield. Join us for a free glass of wine before/during/after the performance! LUCID BEAMS is the second performance in the Random Overtones 'ArtSounds' series 2009.
