Event Details

Musicians Against Complacency is a collective committed to presenting new and rarely played music from all over. They especially want to target the widespread complacency that has infused the following areas of our lives: - complacency in musical repertoire (taste and choice) - complacency in musical performance - complacency in social involvement and interactions.

MAC is back! Come and hear the music that is never played along with two brand new works by our most talented local composers. Come and be thrilled by some frighteningly good performances by Brisbane's up-and-coming musicians. New pieces by Brisbane composers Liam Flenady and Reilly Smethurst, along with the famous Sweet Air by increasingly well-recognised American composer David Lang and the eternally fun Random Round by Percy Grainger.

Musicians Against Complacency: flutes - Maxine Byrne, Hannah Reardon-Smith; violins - Allana Wales, Natalie Little, Amy Brookman: viola - Hana Hobiger; cellos - Nils Hobiger, Katherine Philp; piano - Philip Eames; percussion - Shane McPherson, Cameron Kennedy; guitar/voice - Amelia Golding

Featured non-Australian music: David Lang - Sweet Air
