Acclaimed Sydney-based pianist/composer Mark Isaacs’s solo work has been a constant and on-going thread in his career since he first began solo concerts around 1980, and was documented on the 1995 groundbreaking 4-CD set, The Elements (on ABC). He has performed solo improvised music concerts extensively around the world over the past two decades, and this promises to be a special evening in this intimate atmosphere. Earlier in the year Isaacs’s solo piano CD of his classical compositions Children’s Songs was released by the New York label Soundbrush Records.
His Symphony No. 1 is being premiered by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra on 25 October.
