Event Details

Following the rousing reception received at his November debut at Camelot Lounge, playing his bold solo piano show, Mark Isaacs returns on Jan 21! Camelot Lounge proprietor and triple ARIA Award winning artist Yaron Hallis says about the last show: “Each piece that Mark created was a moment in time, never to be repeated. He was creating the most exquisite pieces of music on the spot - and the audience was completely and utterly mesmerised. These were pieces of music that many other musicians would dream of composing over weeks and months, yet he was doing it in the moment - moment after moment of sublime and sophisticated musicianship and intense emotional connection. His strong sense of melody and creating of satisfying forms completely spontaneously was nothing short of breathtaking. This is why - like The Necks - every Mark Isaacs show is nothing less than an event - and an opportunity to be part of something very, very special that can never, and will never, ever be repeated...” Mark Isaacs’s solo piano extemporisations draw on classical, jazz, grooves, and folkloric traditions, all masterfully shaped by the fertile creative mind of one of Australia’s most acclaimed composers and jazz musicians. Mark writes symphonies, concertos, plays classical piano and conducts orchestras. At the same time his brilliant jazz output has seen him collaborating with some of the most legendary international jazz stars, recording numerous lauded albums and touring the world. As well as his passionate musical life, Mark is a trained telephone crisis supporter for Lifeline Australia, an extension of the mission of “reaching out, and listening” that he sees lying at the very core of music. This unique artist’s return to Camelot Lounge is a must see!
