Event Details
The Kegelstatt Ensemble returns to its roots for their first concert for the year, which focuses on the music of the night. This concert presents Kegelstatt in its original incarnation of clarinet, viola and piano. The velvety timbres of these particular wind and string instruments are well suited to music of half-shades and moonlight tints. Here we showcase Kurtag’s Hommage á Schumann, a set of eerie and fascinating miniatures, between nocturnal musings by Australian composers Paul Stanhope and Brett Dean.
Featured non-Australian music: Kurtag; Mozart
