Event Details
William Barton on didgeridoo, The Song Company and the Leichhardt Espresso Chorus deliver the first Sydney performance of Gerard Brophy’s Guildford Mass in the magnificent St James Church conducted by Michelle Leonard. This breathtaking work stunningly sets the Catholic Mass with equal measure of contemplation and joyous exultation.
Referencing ancient Gregorian chant and the sounds of the Indian continent it elegantly showcases the versatility and capacity of the human voice when artfully combined with the power of the Organ and Didgeridoo. Framed by excerpts from Byrds famous Mass for four voices this is a concert with a twist.
