Event Details

The Melbourne Metropolitan Sinfonietta concludes its first official season with orchestral arrangements and original works by contemporary Australians. Including a stellar arrangement of Night on Bald Mountain by Brenton Broadstock, Bach's Double Violin Concerto arr. Luke Carbon, an eerily beautiful adaptation of Brian Eno's arrangement of Pachelbel's Canon by artistic director and curator Michael Bakrnchev, right through to world premieres by Thea Adele Zimpel, Nathan Falkenhagen, Gawain Davey and works by Evan Lawson & Elliott Hughes.

This concert will also feature guests Ryan Williams (recorders), Sascha Kelly (guest conductor), and Diana Tolmie (saxophone). We are pleased to announce that this concert will be conducted by Australian conductor, Patrick Burns, who recently returned from an international conducting competition held in Bulgaria, where he was awarded the jury's special prize.
