Matthias Pintscher, one of today's leading contemporary composers, makes his Australian debut in the MSO's Metropolis 2009, tracing his formative influences and conducting the orchestral music which has brought him so many international accolades. In this first concert he directs a new work by Elias Constantopedos commissioned as part of the MSO's Cybec 21st Century Australian Composers Program. Acclaimed trumpeter, Tristram Williams features as soloist in Zimmermann's Nobody Knows Da Trouble I See.
This concert is presented in association with the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
