Songmen from throughout Arnhem Land have long converged on the Beswick/Wugularr Community, considering it their common meeting place. Muyngarnbi celebrates the potency of this vocal tradition in a precious and enthralling concert that blends ancient and contemporary arrangements; a testament to the songs and their singers, to their power, longevity and relevance. This is a rare opportunity to experience Muyngarnbi live, featuring Songman Roy Ashley and Tom E. Lewis with Alastair Watts on double bass, Francis Diatschenko on guitars and Dave Houston’s percussion.
This event forms part of the Darwin Festival.
