Event Details
The collection of works performed in New Music Beauty Queen echoes themes in local designer New Model Beauty Queen’s 2014 collection. Inspired by Matilda Butters’ Press Dress, a silk dress screen printed with the front pages of the 18 Victorian newspapers in print in 1866, their current clothing line highlights themes of language, politics and print. Similarly, our program draws on spoken word, news broadcasts and gesture.
