Event Details
Orchestra Geelong Inc. presents the first of a series of 3 concerts for 2015. The program 'A touch of the British' includes the premiere of Australian composer Malcolm John's new work for two clarinets & orchestra, Earls’s Departure. The work is a a variation on the tune 'With my swag all on my shoulder, associated not only with the Victorian gold fields, but also with the Irish Flight of the Earls of early C17.
Solo clarinets – Allister Cox, Janice Bryce.
Guests: Bay City Strings; youth string training organisation joining the orchestra for Vaughan Williams's 'Intrada' from his Concerto Grosso.
