Event Details
ORDER AND RESONANCE features five of Melbourne's most exciting young composers/improvisers as they present a unique fusing of original electro-acoustic music, sound installation and architecture. As the audience members explore the intimate space of the Chrysalis Print Gallery, they will have the opportunity to listen, touch and interact with various stations scattered throughout the venue. All five of the featured composer/improvisers have recently emerged from the Victorian College of the Arts - Practical Composition stream, led by esteemed composer Mark Pollard. However, their aesthetic sensibilities couldn't be more divergent, with an eclectic range of influences including the European avant-garde, death metal, accidental electronics and contemporary music theatre.
Doors will open at 6.30pm. The performances will be roughly divided into two 50 minute sets between 7pm and 9pm. Wine and nibbles will be served throughout the night.
Performers: Luke Paulding, Evan Lawson, Dean Gourley, Sean Mears, Camille Robinson, and Robert Savage (guest musician).
