Paul Capsis returns to Canberra to open the Capital Jazz Project with his show 'Make Me A King' on Friday 3rd August. In 'Make Me A King', internationally acclaimed performing sensation Paul Capsis interprets wonderful music of the 20th century with a voice that traverses the octaves with ease and is spine-tingling in impact. An intimate show paying homage to Paul's personal musical influences and bringing something special of his own to a range of timeless rock, soul, jazz and blues songs. Recipient of the 2010 Sidney Myer Individual Performing Award, Paul Capsis is undoubtedly one of Australia's most individual and versatile performers, effortlessly crossing between theatre, film, live concerts and cabaret. Accompanied by an extraordinary jazz trio comprising Alister Spence, Lloyd Swanton and Toby Hall, repertoire will include songs of REM, Lou Reed, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Dinah Washington and a few surprises.
