Event Details
Petrichor Sax presents a dynamic program, performing two world premiere works by young and emerging Australian composers Elizabeth Jigalin and Michael Paton. They will be joined by guest artist David Gioia (Perth) as soloist for the performance of Ibert’s Concertino da Camera, arranged for saxophone quintet. This compelling young line-up will also be performing works by Philip Glass, György Ligeti, Philippe Geiss and Michael Jamieson (NZ). Taking place at the Glebe Justice Centre, audiences will experience a night where classical meets casual, and are invited to 'bring-your-own' food and drink to enjoy the affair.
Performers: Mary Osborn (soprano saxophone) Alice V Morgan (alto sax) Lachlan McDonald (alto/tenor sax) Carlo Antonioli (tenor sax) Laura Andrew (baritone sax)
Featured non-Australian music: Jacques Ibert - Concertino da Camera (arranged by David Gioia); Philp Glass - Windcatcher; Philippe Geiss - Patchwork; György Ligeti - Six Bagatelles
