Event Details
Painting Music is the title of the most challenging and rhythmically complex work in the program. It expresses the parallels between the composition of painting and the composition of music. The concert premieres four new Australian works by Harry Burgess, Kezia Yap, Elizabeth Jigalin and Ciaran Frame and one New Zealand work by Will Yaxley. Petrichor member, Alice Morgan, has arranged Samuel Barber’s Summer Music with exceptional sensibility and style. The performance also includes Glazunov’s Saxophone Quartet and Above by American composer and saxophonist Matthew Levy.
Featured non-Australian music: Alexander Glazunov Saxophone Quartet, Samuel Barber Summer Music (arranged by Alice V Morgan); Above by Matthew Levy
