"He's one of the great virtuosos. This is a great man. He radiates." – Sir Simon Rattle on William Barton
Didgeridoo master William Barton is the Australian String Quartet’s special guest for this next chapter of their Quartet & Country book. William’s utterly Australian music, as well as that of his teacher and mentor, the late Peter Sculthorpe is drawn into a conversation with two European masterpieces – Mozart’s final, Beethoven-like quartet K590 and Ligeti’s remarkable 17 movement metamorphic set of Bartok-like variations. A concert of first-rate repertoire from one of Australia’s finest ensembles.
