Event Details
These two acclaimed young ensembles come together to present a program of contemporary works by Italian and Australian composers. From intimate duets to Berio's seminal Folk Songs, our final concert for 2010 promises to offer a sound world that blends, mysticism, lyricism and the avant-garde. This concert will include the Australian premiere of Sciarrino's Fauno che fischia a un Merlo for flute and harp, Chris Dench's An Hypallage, and Wie bin ich froh! by Patricia Allessandrini; a significant young Italian-born composer whose work has never before been performed in Australia.
Expanding out to chamber ensemble Aria Co. and Quiver will present Berio’s Folk Songs and La Madre by James Rushford, as well as extracts from David Chisholm’s The Beginning and End of Snow and Luke Paulding’s new chamber opera Target.
