Event Details
Since it began in 1995, the Melbourne Rainbow Band has grown to become a proud musical voice for Melbourne’s GLBTI community. This year, we’re turning 20 and we want you to help us celebrate! In the first of our 20th anniversary concerts, ‘Rainbow Connections’ uses the power of music to explore the full spectrum and meaning of pride flag colours past and present. Hosted by the hilariously talented Dolly Diamond, this spectacular concert features two world premieres of works composed especially for this performance by Ronnie Minder and Chris Palamountain. This concert also showcases solos from MRB Trumpeter Rachael Bean, and international Euphonium soloist, Fletcher Mitchell. Under the baton of Musical Director Greg Peterson, don’t miss out on your chance to join Australia’s premier gay and lesbian community concert band, the Melbourne Rainbow Band, in a celebration of 20 fabulous years of music.
Performers: The Melbourne Rainbow Band, conducted by Greg Peterson. Featuring Rachael Bean (Trumpet) and Fletcher Mitchell (Euphonium).
Featured non-Australian music: O'Loughlin, Vogel, Hodges, Smith, Anderson, Schwarz, Galante, Whitacre, Kahelin and Meyer
