Regional Express Outback Tour 2010
- Date: Friday, 23 July 2010 to Tuesday, 27 July 2010
- Venue: Queensland - various venues across the state — Queensland, QLD
Aiming to expose all generations and regional communities to traditional chamber and indigenous music genres, the renowned didgeridoo artist and composer William Barton will join the talented Elandra String Quartet in a journey through the Australian Outback, from Townsville through Mount Isa, Cloncurry, Richmond and Charter Towers.
Held on the back of NAIDOC Week celebrations, and just one week before the Australian Festival of Chamber Music begins, this five-day journey will see the musicians perform live shows at a number of schools who have never before experienced live music of such high calibre. When not offering didgeridoo workshops or string master classes, the Outback Tour will also be entertaining the wider rural community with free community concerts.
