Event Details
The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra marks the Anzac Centenary with Remembrance, a multimedia event memorialising the original Anzac experience.
Written and directed by Rodney Hall, two-time winner of the Miles Franklin Literary Award, and featuring David Hobson and artists from Victorian Opera, Remembrance combines music, words and projected archival images. Its six chapters encompass recruitment and enlistment, embarkation, training in Egypt, Gallipoli, trench warfare and homecoming.
Held exactly one week shy of the 100th anniversary of the start of the Gallipoli Campaign, Remembrance uses songs and poems of a century ago to capture the human face – and the human cost – of those who went to war.
