The program offers music by composers you may not know but will love, from France, Holland, Italy and Australia. Highlights include Vocalise-Etude by Olivier Messiaen, Ozzie Bush Birds by Sydney-born composer, Rosalind Carlson and the Sonata for flute and piano by the Dutch composer Dick Kattenburg, who died in Auschwitz at the age of 24.
The afternoon’s musical program is highly varied, ensuring something for everyone to enjoy. Janet Webb has had a distinguished career in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, holding the Principal Flute position since 1985. Janet regularly performs recitals and masterclasses and has taught for the Singapore, Sydney, NSW and Tasmanian Universities. Jocelyn Fazzone is a Sydney based flutist, pianist, educator and examiner, and has a passion for combining these different roles as associate artist (pianist) with flute players. Jocelyn teaches at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the Australian International Conservatorium and Wesley Institute. Janet and Jocelyn have released two CDs - Tango and All That Jazz and Romantic Bon Bons in 2013.
