With the success of last years performance, SIMA present s another opportunity to see one of Sydney’s leading Indian musicians, tabla player Bobby Singh, in a thrilling dialogue with jazz musician Sandy Evans and her superb trio of bass player Brett Hirst and drummer Toby Hall.

Sandy Evans is one of Australia’s leading saxophonists and composers. Sandy performs with the Sandy Evans Trio, The catholics, the Australian Art Orchestra, MARA! Ten Part Invention, austraLYSIS, and Waratah. Sandy has won many Awards including an OAM, AIR Best Independent Jazz Record 2011, Australian Jazz Musician of The Year 2003, and 3 ARIAs. Sandy has a keen interest in Indian jazz collaboration. Her CD ‘Cosmic Waves’ featuring Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani and Sruthi Laya has just been released on renowned Indian label Underscore Records.

Expect soulful melodies, breathtaking improvisations, hypnotic grooves and stunning percussion solos, redefining the fusion of jazz and Indian music. This is a not to be missed event. Previous concerts with these artists have been a huge success so book now to avoid disappointment.
