The performance will include: - a reinterpretation of the sounds of Portland captured and composed for the Heard/Unhead:Flux SoundArt project at the Upwelling Festival. - a selection of 20th & 21st century flute repertoire and other electro acoustic improvisation work, a showing of video work by PSC Year 7 students.
This is a response to a response to the Upwelling, the main attraction is of course on the Portland Foreshore during the Upwelling Festival on Saturday the 2nd of November, which is a 4-channel sound installation running most of the day. This little concert is a chance to demonstrate other avenues of sound art and electroacoustic music, along with the scientific work of some local students from Portland Secondary College.

(Bennett): Giles - Etude Microscopique (bass flute solo) (c. 4mins) 3a. Video 4. (Giles/Bennett): Improvised electroacoustic response to the Upwelling using found sounds, prepared bass and flutes. (c. 15mins)
