TRIGGER: MICHAEL AVGENICOS (9pm)

Trigger is a new initiative that pairs leading jazz musicians with a selected emerging artist to bring to life their original compositions. Michael Avgenicos, a recent graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, is quickly making a name for himself as a performer and composer. Michael was a finalist at the 2016 National Jazz Awards. His compositions have a focus on melody and groove, with elements of 50s funk, 60s free bop, 90s hip hop and modern jazz. Expect to hear fresh new music leaning towards the more traditional sound of ballads and bluesy standards. This performance will be recorded Live at the Sound Lounge, supported by APRA AMCOS.
