Event Details

Singer, pianist and songwriter Frances Madden has been described as ‘one to watch’ by Mal Stanley of ABC Jazz, and as ‘Australia’s rising star of jazz and blues’ by Sydney’s Fine Music 102.5FM. Frances captivates audiences with a combination of her genuinely warm stage presence alongside a voice and style that are uniquely her own.

Her jazz-oriented music is enjoyed by a broad range of audiences. In the past year, Frances has headlined at the JZ Club in Shanghai and supported the legendary Dionne Warwick and Grammy Award–winner Gregory Porter in their Australian shows. Frances was the Fine Music 102.5 FM Stefan Kruger Award winner for 2017 and also managed to spend two weeks songwriting in Nashville, USA. Frances performed to capacity crowds at the Manly and Devonport Jazz Festivals and the Hobart Festival of Voices, as well as doing an eight-show East Coast tour from Brisbane to Hobart.

For the Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival, Frances will perform with her eight-piece band which includes some of Australia’s finest jazz musicians.
