A concert which embodies great joys and great sorrows. Smetana reminisces about his life, music and love as he confronts the possibility of permanent deafness in his String Quartet From My Life, while Hindson contemplates the emotion and experiences of a passenger in a funeral car in Funeral Windows. Weber also makes an appearance with his Clarinet Quintet written for the outstanding clarinetist of the Munich Orchestra, Heinrich Baermann.
