Event Details
Melbourne-based virtuoso hipsters, and 2012 Helpmann Award nominees, the Syzygy Ensemble show the way to a brave world of new chamber music.
Blair Harris (cello), Jenny Khafagi (violin), Leigh Harrold (piano), Julia Stoppa (clarinet) and Laila Engle (flute) perform classical music that, by their own account, owes as much to Olympic ice skaters and photography as it does to progressive rock and 20th century symbolist poetry.
If you have no idea what contemporary classical music is, take this opportunity to wet your toes and stretch your ears.
This performance will also feature a special collaboration with Brisbane based video artist Miss Random.
Featured non-Australian music: Takuma Itoh, Erkki Sven Tüür, Theo Loevendie, Helen Grime, Sean Shepherd, Joan Tower
