Event Details
The Syzygy Ensemble presents snapshots of images frozen in time, where composers have painted deft sketches of everything from ice-skaters to broken hearts to political violence. The music carries the audience from place to place to take stock, to be shocked, to be inspired, or simply to seek refuge, before taking a mental picture and moving on. A stunning recital of 21st century chamber music with voice featuring works by Mark Anthony-Turnage, Betty Beath and Osvaldo Golijov.
Featured non-Australian music: Mark Anthony Turnage: Two Baudelaire Songs (2004),Osvaldo Golijov: Tenebrae (2000), Charles Ives: Largo (1901), Luciano Berio: Lied (1983), Joan Tower: Petrouchskates (1980)
