Event Details
Less than a week to go to Double Trouble, where we promise to delight your ears, tickle your funny-bone and warm your soul as we celebrate 70 years of Martin and Peter Wesley Smith.
The compositions of these charming rogues, have had us in awe one moment, and in stitches the next. Wit, whimsy, satire and sedition, from Playschool favourite Walking in the City to a song cycle about Federation — we can’t wait to share it with you.
Their advice on ‘How to Write a National Anthem’ will give you a whole new perspective on Advance Australia Fair!
The Song CompanyOur special guests the Song Company describe Martin and Peter as their ‘unofficial composers (and poets) in residence’.
This program dedicated to the music of the Wesley-Smiths — the only one in Canberra this year — will be a special treat for audience and performers alike.
Double Trouble is performed by The Song Company, Roland Peelman, Tobias Cole, the CCS Chorus, Anthony Smith, and the youthful voices of Vocal Envy and the Turner Trebles.
Proudly presented by the Canberra Choral Society.
