The Thunder Trio are coming to Jazzgroove! After wowing audiences at the Hollywood and the Hippo bar in 09, these guys are ready to rock the Excelsior. Combing groove classics, originals and jazz standards, The Thunder Trio put their groove stamp on whatever they play. Clarkey and Dewey have been playing together for well over a decade now and their favourite new game to play is drummer roulette, come check it!
Almost a year of workshopping launches the Kim Lawson Trio into their debut album Alive and Kicking. The album delivers a set of meticulous compositions; each piece having its own identity, being tightly framed and concise, yet with space built-in for improvisation and the expression of each member of the trio. Although drawing from jazz, classical, funk and various other sources, the trio succeeds completely in having its own sound.
