This French inspired program offers a series of visions of childhood, including the public premiere of a brand new work by the Quintet’s beloved mentor composer Paul Dean, Jasper and Charlie, inspired by Craig Silvey’s novel Jasper Jones. Included in the program is a definitive version of childhood visions, but in a form never previously heard at the Port Fairy Spring Music Festival: Ravel’s Mother Goose suite, arranged for wind quintet by Joachim Linckelmann.

The Arcadia Quintet is fast emerging as one of the most exciting chamber music groups in Australia. It was formed in 2013 at the Australian National Academy of Music, and several of its members may be familiar to Festival audiences from previous appearances as students of ANAM. The group is now garnering wide acclaim as a professional ensemble, with festival invitations around the country throughout 2015.
