Event Details
The modern ruin, industrial space fallen violently or gradually from function, is ubiquitous in the urban environment today. Simultaneously, the digital realm has caused physical, analogue sound media to fall into obsolescence, as the rasping of machinery passes slowly on. Rust and rubble form the 21st century’s visceral post-industrial soil. These works, by composers Austin Buckett, Lachlan Hughes, Russell Phillips and Marcus Whale, respond to the drawn out artefacts of decay with broken sound and media in trauma. With Jacob Abela, Doretta Balkizas, Susan Kim and more.
