Event Details

Chris Cody reunites the Chris Cody Coalition twenty years after the band's first appearance for SIMA. This successful band played in Sydney, Melbourne and Wangaratta, and recorded for Naxos Jazz, selling over 10,000 copies of their CD Oasis around the world.

Completing this all-star band are James Greening, Lloyd Swanton and Fabian Hevia, all very respected members of the Australian jazz scene having performed with The Catholics, The Necks, Australian Art Orchestra, Ten Part Invention, and Wanderlust.

"These musicians guarantee a performance full of colour, humour and rhythmic movement." – Sydney Morning Herald

While living in France for over 20 years, Chris Cody played extensively in clubs and festivals around USA, Europe and Africa. Chris’s music reveals not only his deep love of the jazz and classical traditions, but also the influence of the contemporary French, African and Arab musicians he worked with in Paris. Blended with contemporary urban grooves, his originality, warmth, lyricism and humour have seduced a wide and diverse public around the world, with his recordings receiving rave reviews from the critics.
