Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, in collaboration with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, present Women of Note, a performance showcasing new music by Australia’s finest female composers. This free performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music will include the world premiere of compositions by four outstanding female composers and current participants in the National Women Composers’ Development Program: Claire Johnston, Ella Macens, Natalie Nicolas and Elizabeth Younan. Their works will be performed alongside music from eminent composers such as Anne Boyd AM and Moya Henderson.
Performed by the Chamber Singers, a dynamic ensemble of Sydney Philharmonia Choirs, Australia’s finest choral performing arts company, the concert will be led by Music Director and University of Sydney alumnus Brett Weymark, who will be joined by emerging conductor Claire Howard-Race. This will be a rare opportunity to hear these compositions from Australia’s most exciting, young music talent performed for the very first time. Join the composers themselves, and other passionate music lovers, for this one-off performance. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear the new voices of Australian music.
