Event Details

Be part of the 3rd Annual Berry Jazz festival and jam with some of Australia’s best jazz artists under the direction of Eric Dunan, Director of Jazz Studies at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music.

Participants will spend the morning learning and rehearsing some new songs  to perform as part of the festival.  Some of Sydney’s most celebrated jazz artists will join them for a special afternoon performance which will also include the Wollongong Conservatorium Jazz Orchestra.

ELIGIBILITY:

You must be 9 to 18 years of age, be able to read standard music notation at a basic level and play one of the following instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, violin, bass guitar or percussion.

Please note that places are strictly limited for keyboard, piano  and guitar players. If you wish to join on one of these instruments you must contact Eric Dunan directly before registering.

SCHEDULE:

9.30am - Arrive and sign in at Berry School of the Arts. Please note that this is when you will receive your music when you sign in.
10am - 12pm - Rehearsal of songs with Eric Dunan.
12 - 1.30pm - Break (Head over to Apex Park for performance of Queen Porter Stomp.
2 - 3:30pm - Jam Band Performance with special guests plus special performance by the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music Jazz Orchestra.
