Product details
This piece is based on a twelve tone row, segmented and subjected to the Boulezian procedure of chordal multiplication, thereby providing a bigger number of smaller pitch cells which are harmonically consistent across variations, than is possible by repetitively using the complete tone row itself.
These smaller pitch cells have been used in a very ordered way also derived from the original tone row. This music was inspired by Coruscations by Richard Meale, which is based on the same principle of chordal multiplication. Richard's music showed that using strict serial procedures does not preclude writing music with an individual character.
