Product details

Beethoven was commissioned to write four pieces for mandolin & keyboard around 1795. They were dedicated to Josephine Clary, the Countess Clam-Gallas. The mandolin was at the time very popular, particularly as an instrument for the cultured nobility & emerging middle classes. Stephen Lalor, composer and mandolin soloist with Australian and overseas orchestras, arranged and adapted the pieces for solo mandolin and mandolin orchestra for a series of concerts with The Melbourne Mandolin Orchetsra in 2009
