Histoire sans paroles (story without words) for violin, cello and piano, was commissioned by the Australian collective The Firm for Settembrini Trio, that premiered it in Adelaide in September 2002.

The first part of the work, essentially rhythmic, evokes a dance. The second part, slow and static, is inspired by the immensity of bush landscapes crushed by sun and heat.
