Product details

Legend of Storm Drumming refers to ancient mythologies in which drumming would be used to encourage the heavens to rain. The work begins with a pizzicato technique called

Bartok pizzicato, or snap pizzicato, to suggest the sound of wooden drums. At bar 3 a chant-like recurring motif is presented in a modal melody, section A. This melody is repeated at ever increasing speeds until a slower section B. Section A then reappears utilizing open 5ths and an increased speed to suggest frenzy and a dramatic storm.
