Mobile-Mosaïque is a reworking for the piano of the substance of Tri for Solo Flute composed the year before. This change of instrument brought with it a liberation from the constraints of breathing, an escape from the monodic into the harmonic, and, by judicious use of the pedal, the possibility of prolonging and accumulating pitches, exploring their harmonic potential.
Two versions of the work are suggested, and thus two scores are necessary. The first is the continuous, sequential version - 20 pages of score (25 cm x 32 cm) with 2 systems per page.
The mobile version consists of another identical score cut carefully into 40 half-page units, which are then shuffled like playing cards, into any random order, preferably by a non-musician, thereby avoiding conditioned, informed choices; the purpose being a "mise en question", a calling into question of musically "educated" choices based on conditioned notions of cause and effect - exploding, fragmenting the predictable to produce an ever-changing random result.

There are two parts to this work. Score A is played in page order, whilst Score B is shuffled into random order before performance. A full performance should consist of Score A followed by Score B.
