Product details

Odd Time in Mali is a catchy West African influenced work for big band. It is based on an interesting rhythmic pattern which alternates between bars of 4/4 and 5/4 which initially heard on a recording from Mali. The piece moves into a 4/4 Cameroonian-derived Makoosa feel for the improvised solos. Like a lot of West African popular music a Calypso flavour can be heard

Published by: Australian Music Centre — 1 set of 17 performance parts (75p. -- A4 (portrait))
