Sheet Music: Performance PartsOdd time in Mali : for jazz big band / Jenna Cave.by Jenna Cave (2006)

Product details
Odd Time in Mali is a catchy West African influenced work for big band. It is based on an interesting rhythmic pattern which alternates between bars of 4/4 and 5/4 which initially heard on a recording from Mali. The piece moves into a 4/4 Cameroonian-derived Makoosa feel for the improvised solos. Like a lot of West African popular music a Calypso flavour can be heard
