This product forms part of the following series: Listening Room.

Summary: 'Obliquely to a circular mirror': The New Zealand composer and instrument builder gave a series of concerts and workshops in Sydney in 2003. This is a recording of a special studio performance during this time.

Summary: 'Paternity': A composition in which the composer has imagined a scene from rural life, with hurricane lamps flickering in the pre-dawn light while the land is forcefully cleared for cultivation. Black says his approach to composition is similar, changing and reshaping to make new expression. Presented at the 33rd Festival Synth├Ęse, Bourges 2003.

Non-commercial recording. For study purposes only.

Broadcast on The Listening Room, ABC Classic FM, 21 July 2003.
